You should try to find a free clinic in your area. Depending on where you live, these can usually be found. You could have pneumonia or worse, but only a Dr. can diagnose you and get you some antibiotics, and see why there's blood. You might hope it's just from some irritation from coughing, but it might be much worse. Don't want to scare you.... but get treatment right away. If you're a smoker - don't! Drink lots of liquids too.

Will you have money for a hospital stay or funeral? Surely there must be a clinic in your area? Or go to the Pharmacy and speak with a Pharmacist. What you explain might be serious or could mean that when you are coughing you are straining too much and tiny corpuscles are breaking, thus the blood in the mucous. The allergy medicine you started much be drying you out too much making the membranes more susceptible to damage if you're coughing or blowing your nose too hard. Are you running a fever? The fact that you are having trouble breathing makes this situation all the more potentially serious. It is indeed unfortunate that in our great country, there are people who have to forgo medical treatment due to lack of medical coverage. Drink plenty of water, make yourself some hot tea and honey; you can consult WebMD.com but it really sounds like you should seek medical assistance!
Blessings!

Get to an ER. Blood in the mucus is a major warning. Sounds more like pneumonia, especially with the difficulty breathing.

Do you realize the infection can get into the heart, damaging the values, and then travel to the brain and caused brain damage?

If you don't have insurance, go to a County hospital. They cannot refuse service to you without or with insurance.

Go to the hospital ER. They have to treat you, whether you have the ability to pay or not. They will also have a special form you can fill out if you don't have the ability to pay.
You shouldn't ignore these symptoms. Not only do they sound dangerous, but have you also considered the fact that you may be contagious to others?
Good luck to you, I hope you get this taken care of.

Go to the ER.. you could be in Respiratory Distress, and Blood in the mucous that you cough up is never a good sign.. you may have pneumonia, bronchiolitis, asthma.. or any other respiratory illness, but you will need to see a doctor.

Sometimes we think it is a cold. Some allergy foods I believe are Parmesan, which is sometims in some dressings.Which can create mucous . Also. read your labels bfore you eat. .BEFORE YOU GO TO BED DRINK WARM WATER.TO HELP YOU ELIMINATE some ofTHE MUCUOUS.Some people are allergic to other things.Check what you are eating. Also first check wih your Doctor.Or some icecreams may be the cause.Or yogurts.

Break the budget and go to the ER. Blood in secretions is not a good sign - and your body needs help to kick the infection.

Sorry - but you have to go if you want to live. You could die in your sleep or go septic and experience organ shutdown.

Blood in your secretions combined with shortness of breath can mean respiratory distress. It could be anything from asthma, to congestive heart failure.
Go to ER.

Sounds as if you've got pneumonia. Get yourself, or get someone else to take you to emergency right away. Don't be sitting at your computer a minute longer. YOU NEED HELP RIGHT NOW!
