Blue baby syndrome
From Wikipedia

A cyanotic newborn, or "blue baby"Blue baby syndrome (or simply, blue baby) is a layman's term used to describe newborns with cyanotic conditions, such as:

Cyanotic heart defects
Tetralogy of Fallot
Dextro-Transposition of the great arteries
Hypoplastic left heart syndrome
Methemoglobinemia
Respiratory distress syndrome

On November 29, 1944, the Johns Hopkins Hospital was the first to successfully perform an operation to relieve this syndrome. Alfred Blalock, Helen B. Taussig, and Vivien Thomas performed an anastomosis, or joining, of the subclavian artery to the pulmonary artery in a cyanotic child, allowing the blood another chance to become oxygenated. The procedure is now known as a Blalock-Taussig shunt.

Blue Baby Syndrome is often caused by excessive amounts of nitrates in an infant's body.

Body will turn blue, if Oxygen supply, gets restricted. It generally happens when the Child has not learnt to control emotions and has trouble inhaling & exhaling. During, that time the air gets blocked in normal channels. Immediate, response should be to close both the ears, simultaneously, for few seconds.
