I like the Canon cameras. I bought my first Canon camera back in the mid 70's, and it was a 35mm SLR (the AE-1). I took thousands of pictures with it. Then, a couple years later when the Canon A-1 came out I traded my AE-1 in and bought the A-1 and also bought a used Canon FTB. I took those cameras with me everywhere and even made enough money taking photographs to pay for all my camera equipment.

Several years later, I bought myself a new Canon 35mm SLR (the EOS Rebel) and bought several new lenses and a flash to go along with it.

Then, about 2 years ago I bought a Digital camera (Canon Power Shot A95). It's a great camera. I take it with me everywhere I go, because I never know when I'm going to want to take a picture. I bought a small carrying bag for it to protect it, which is why my stuff has a tendency to last so long.

I'm including a link to a review on the camera, and I did a quick search and they are still available. The camera comes with a memory card and so far I have not found a need to buy a larger one or an extra one, so there really isn't anything extra to buy other than batteries and a case if you decide to buy one too.
