Since you are getting relieved with a nitrate, the pain may just be related to your heart. You should get a second opinion and be prepared for a battery of tests, which may include ECG, Echocardiography, Treadmill Test, cardiac enzyme studies in your blood, sugar and cholesterol levels in your blood, etc.

I would get a second opinion.
I had a similar experience. The first doctor told me I was to young to have chest pains and to seek mental health services. The second doctor found a heart murmur right away.I had to go to a specialist and get an ultra sound of my heart. It turned out to be Micro valve reflapse. I only need to take aspirin each day. But i could have gotten an infection from the dental check ups.

YES! Get a second opinion. Anybody who goes to school for that many years would have to be intelligent and of coarse very educated in their field of study. However, nobody knows a body as well as a person knows their own. If you are having any doubt what-so-ever, and obviously you are, you need a second opinion, if for nothing else, to ease your piece of mind. So, my advice to you is to make and appointment with a professional in that particular field and take the time and money to get answers that comfort your mind...remember, the first wealth is health!

get a second or third opinion until someone finds out what is wrong, what happened in april or may might not count this month, go to another doctor and have them run tests again

You know your heart better than the doc - especially because of your previous experience. Seek another opinion.

Could be Acid Reflux. Same symptoms. It hurts just like a heart attack. I have had both.

Second opinion. If the nitro helps, there is possible cardiac involvement.
