It was one of the easiest things I've ever done and I grew up eating meat. I substitute my meat now with soy meats which have an even better taste than real meat. I drink organic milk and eat organic eggs and cheese. Here are some recipes but look in the vegetable section of your store for the soy meats and also in the freezer section. Bocca burgers are really great also. Here are some recipe sites:

Here is so info on the benefits of giving up meat:

It's really easy and you will feel so much healthier. Good Luck

Just don't eat meat. It's hard I know, I live in a family where out of aunts uncles cousins parents etc I'm the only vegetarian. It gets super hard at times, but if you must eat meatless products with lot of protein in it like Boca & Morning Star farms. Those make the transition alot easier.

Um... let's think about this one really hard. Let's just take a guess and say maybe NOT eating meat is ONE way to be a vegetarian.

Sorry. I couldn't resist. But, I think that they will support you in your decision, and can help you out with it by buying things other than meat for you to eat. Just let them know your reasons, and ask that they help you. It'd be easier than trying to stop eating meat and not tell them. unless they buy lots of fruit and veggies and other stuff as well. But you should still tell them, so they can support you.

You can check out this link from the Krishna's. It's a vegetarian cookbook with easy recipes.

Click on the vegetarian icon and go to the "Higher Taste" cookbook.

I think that it is really cool how all of you guys have taken a stand against eating meat. it takes alot of guts.

Just because your parents eat meat doesn't mean you have to. When they eat their dinner just make a salad. There is alot things out there that you have options to. I would say go to your local Library and research on how to be a vegetarian.

the easy part is not eating meat and eating veggies.

but many times your parents try to convince you to eat meat, or try to sneak it in stuff (my mom used to do that.) It's great to try and get the family to eat more veggies, like making rice and some broccoli or green beans with whatever meat they're eating, and you just eat a double helping of veggies, and hopefully they'll eat some, too.

dear stevo
why would you want to ? meat is yummy.........ribs, burgers, steaks, chops, hotdogs..........and it is good for you...and it tastes wonderful.....I have often thought there are 2 kinds of people...Bunnies ( vegetarians) and Lions(meat-eaters)...hahahaha..but seriously, check with your doc first to make sure you get the nutrition you need when you do give up eating meat..it can be a very healthy lifestyle if done properly...I just would miss that bacon cheeseburger too much !!!good luck

Very simple. Stop eating meat.
When you have accomplished that, get protein from rice, beans, peanut butter etc. You will never regret becoming a vegetarian.

Just stop eating all that stuff. My whole family was meat eaters and my mom started buying me different foods or letting me cook my own meals. It wasn't hard at all.
