I have a few friends who are vegetarian and love meat flavoured crisps and I have pondered and pondered about that also. Weird.

It's fine. If you like it and it is a vegetarian product then why not. I personally no longer care for even the smell of meat anymore, so I'm sure I would not like the taste, but that is not why I am a vegan. Shortly before I switched over to a vegan diet I was eating a lot of steak and absolutely loving it. People that stop eating meat for ethical reasons to do with the exploitation and inhumane treatment of animals are still perfectly normal if they still like the taste of meat. Yes, meat tastes freaking good. Just because it tastes good doesn't mean that we should just say screw it and let animals be treated that way just so we can taste them three times a day. I do think though that the longer you go without it and the more you find out about what those animals have to go through, the less great it tastes.

I'm vegetarian, and I have never heard of meat flavored crisps. That doesn't even sound appealing. But, to answer your question... I think meat tastes good... bacon, steak, chicken, etc... but, I believe it is unhealthy, and I don't eat it. We still enjoy the taste though. Which is why there are so many meat alternatives out there.

People are vegetarians for different reasons. Some consider it animal cruelty to eat them, some just don't like the taste.
One woman I know, doesn't like the texture of meat, so I guess she wouldn't mind anything meat flavoured.

The meat flavor is not like meat. Never eat a veggie product with the idea it will taste like meat. The closet thing to a meat I have ever tasted is Tofu Jerky. It is almost like my Moms homemade beef Jerky I ate as a child. The tofu jerky is tender and comes in different flavors.

We like them cos they taste nice and NOTHING like meat!! I am a lacto - ovo vegitarian . I like cheese and onion, tomato and worcester sauce flavour crisps none of them REALLY taste like what they are supposed to be. I reckon the only crisp flavour that is accurate is cheese and pickle flavour!! Beef crisps are the devils work, as is celery - (yuk)

Didn't I read somewhere a few years back that Walkers beef and onion crisps were actually suitable for vegetarians, but the cheese and onion crisps weren't?

Crisps to me are baked seasoned flour chips and I never heard of meat flavored ones. I eat soy crisps in BBQ favor.
