You really have to carefully choose your partners. If you have a lot of sex partners, your concern is absolutely normal. Even if you don't, it's a good thing that you are aware of the STDs. Many people aren't and think that "this could never happen to me".
A responsible adult (male) would not think you are crazy. he might even think of asking you the same thing.
You might get some silly reactions and some guys might feel insulted when you asked them that. Never let anyone make you believe that you are crazy.
It is not a paranoid impulse at all. It is a normal reaction that everybody should have in this promiscuous world.
If he will think you are crazy, he doesn't deserve your attention.
You sound really scared and i think that if you start informing yourself about STDs (ways to get them, cures, prevention) you will be less worried.
Knowledge is power, right?
Always have safe sex.
Take care and good health!

No No No you are not crazy...you're just being SMART! I've had guys get tested before anything happened. I also went & got myself tested while I was already at the doctor getting my yearly exam. Better to be safe than sorry!

No..you are Not Crazy!! Many people contract herpes for example from someone who had no symptoms !! You can use a condom if you don't want to tell him to go to the doctor. I read somewhere that spermicide suppositories kill viruses. Talk to a pharmacist about this.

it is perfectly normal to be afraid of a std, they are so common. I think you should tell him to get test and still use condoms. You need to protect yourself, an std is something that you have to live with for the rest of your life; will he be around that long? Is your body, you only get one and you need to take care of it.

It is normal to be afraid of diseases, but first: if you use a condom it is very unlikely you could get one of them...at least the serious ones, second: it should be ( your fear I mean) about all diseases..not only sexual ones...for example tuberculosis, hepatitis A, and third, I said it is normal to be afraid but if this interfere with your love life, well then you should think about counselling... psychologist...because it is good to be afraid but not paralyzed about it.

He shouldn't in this day & age. I would rather both go to one of those drop in blood test labs and both share the results than play russian roulette with my life.
The you can relax and enjoy sex.
