Yes! With much gratitude and respect for the cook. and the food. and the Lord. The Mexican culture is wonderfully rich in family and God. Eat hearty and often and you will not insult the cook. Much like Italian I suppose, but I have more experience at the table of great New Mexico cooks.

Most of these people are wrong. There is a very structured way to eating Mexican food. You usually start off with soup or rice, followed by the main meal, followed by beans, and then fruit or dessert. Tortillas are always eaten with the main course in Mexican food, you can either roll them up or stuff them with the meat you are eating.

if you look at the spaggetti western films, there is one scene that shows the Mexican bandits eating. The camera focus on their mouth for at least 5 minutes as they chew the food and swallow it and drink. You see the grease all around their mouth as they chew the food with mouth open. Its a good scene but i cant recall what film its from. I think its from one of the clint eastwood films.

My point is with Mexican food, you eat what you want when you want how you want. No one will be insulted so long as you pay your bill

Take a Pepcid or Prevacid first, and have Maalox nearby. Then scarf down the food!

No. there are no customs that you have to follow while eating mexican food. To them, there's only one way you can eat beans, chicharrones, chile, menudo, tamales, enchiladas, and posole. Down the hatch!!!
