, is it still worth the time to install a hafler circuit to enhance the spatial stage. I have (somewhere) a copy of Stereo Review that diagrams how to do this. It's from the early 80's, but it might help with my 4-speaker '91 voyager. Does anyone have any memories of this or have suggestions? thanks

I don't think the quality of the speakers are quite as important as the qualities of the signal sent to them. Imagine hearing a guitar not just on the right, but seems to appear 3-4' past the side window, or above you. I don't think newer radios do this type of processing.

In my opinion..no. Remember that in home or car audio, the final stage regardless of processing is the speakers. Spend 2/3 of your budget on speakers as a rule of thumb and build up from there. This is perhaps not what you are asking but, it bears the greatest impact on the end result.
