Are you anxious about anything? You could be having an anxiety attack.
Also, if you are taking any prescription drugs for any reason, you could have a reaction. I am allergic to codeine and there are alot of thing that contain codeine and morphine that aren't stated. I am allergic to hydrocodone, morphine, lortab etc. When I take these I get sick and my heart races.
If it continues and these are not two possibilities it is important that you see a doctor. You may have a heart problem.

It sounds like tachycardia (rapid heart) and could be from stress/anxiety or it could be a symptom of a physical problem. Go to a doctor. Try and remember what you were doing at the time of the tachycardia, what you were thinking of, what time of day, etc.

Good luck!

Sounds like anxiety, but I am no doctor, I would get checked out...if you are experiencing shortness of breath and/or dizziness or light headedness while you experience the tachycardia, then I would get to the doctors even quicker.

It may be nothing. Have you been exercising more the past few days? That could cause it. If it continues, consult with your doctor about having an EKG or Echocardiagram done.

Then you need to go in to your doctor... tell them about your symptoms, and get worked up for heart problems. Hopefully it is nothing but anxiety, but you need to make sure it isn't nothing...

This was a chronic problem when I smoked pot. If you are smoking pot or taking any drugs, you should stop. If you are not then you need to see your doctor or go to the emergency room.
