Mostly, you should start out by making a food diary... seeing if there is any pattern with foods that cause outbreaks for you... since people tend to be different.

Many people with herpes have reported that eating foods high in arginine, such as chocolate, peanuts and walnuts, may increase the chance and severity of outbreaks.

I have personally had genital herpes for over 5 years. I eat and drink everything I used to and have no problems with outbreaks and food. Everyone is different though. If you have HSV2 you'll have to figure out for yourself what foods cause an outbreak for you and avoid them in the future.
