Always thought of being tested just to make sure I am clean.

But on average what is the cost for a Blood Test? or Urine Test?

I do NOT have health insurance. I wanted to go a clinc because going to a doctor I would think be more expensive.

Depending on where you live, you should be able to go to a clinic and get a complete STD screening for free. Look under the Office of Public Health for your particular county in the government pages of your phone directory.

By the way, you might want to think about using the word "clean" to describe a state of being STD free. This implies that people with STD's are "dirty" or "unclean" and that just isn't the case. I've worked as a counselor in an STD clinic and I can assure you, MANY perfectly normal, healthy, and "clean" people encounter an STD in their lives.

If you do have a screening and discover that you have an STD, I'm sure you wouldn't want someone to refer to you as being "unclean".

There is no absolute safe sex. If you are at all sexually active, you may contract an STD, even if you use condoms, are married, have a family, a good job, and are in fact very hygienic.

I realize it may be just an expression or figure of speech but please be careful with your words. They can cause pain and who wants that karma. Especially when dealing with STD's. Right?

Peace.

first of all blood tests only test for HIV, or Hepatitis. To test for Chlamydia and Gonnorrhea you need to have a sweb of your penis/vagina done by a dr. There are some hospitals that can test for these two in urine but it's rare and very expensive. My advice would be to get tested at a planned parenthood. Either way you gotta get tested if your doing the deed ya know?

Please visit the nearest Genito urinary Medicine (GUM) clinic and enquire. They are supposed to attend STD cases.
