sometimes, sometimes not it depends on the person. if youre overweight and have a diet that has a lot of salt/sodium try to reduce the amount of salt/sodium youre taking in, eat healthier, and excercise. some people just have naturally high blood pressure though, and blood pressure rises with age

The only way to control high blood pressure and to stay away from medication is through diet and exercise. It may not take away all the medication but it will definitely help. More people today cook at home less than when I was growing up. Proper meals made at home also help. You dont have to sacrifice good taste for healthy foods. I was about 270 pounds 4 years ago and used to wear a size 38w pants that were snug. Through the right exercise program for me and a good diet i dropped down to 215 pounds and a 34 waist. The key is making a plan a sticking to it. You can still have all the foods you enjoy but how much and how often play a big part. As with any exercise program start at a comfortable pace and keep regular check-ups with his doctor. As time goes on he will see a difference in appearance and feel a whole lot better. I hope this works or is at least one avenue he can try. It worked for me. Don't look for fast results, look for positive results and they will come. Have agreat weekend.

yes, it can be reduced. i was recomended by doctor to reduce my weight. so i took up exercises and walking. i walked around 6 km in 1:30 minutes and did some light exercises including sit up alom-vilom and pranayam. I also regulated my diet to boiled vegs, salads, juices, soups etc. yesterday i felt uneasiness and i went to my doctor and lo to my utmost surprise he found my BP reduced by 23 i.e. 70/97 instead of 80/120. I had never before experienced this. But i am sure that above process can reduce BP.

Lose weight and cut back on your salt intake. Salt/Sodium can make you retain fluid which in turn can increase your blood pressure. My son was having problems with his blood pressure and was put on a 4gm sodium diet to help decrease his pressure. Good luck.

Yes, if it is not too high. Follow a low-cholesterol, low sodium diet, high fiber diet. If the blood pressure is too high, then the doctor may put you on medication until you change your diet, loss weight, etc., and then he will take you off.

try the easy (no exercise ) way! Relaxation, meditation, and stop stressing out. This will help of course, but exercise is always a good idea.
