Homemade Lumpia Shanghi, Pancit, Pinakbet w/ fresh kahuku shrimp, and any kine veggie dish that dad, an ilocano, makes at home. Filipino resturant in Hawaii would be Golden Coin Hot fresh Pan De Sal, empanada, taho w/ sago, and kari-kari. I am flispanchi (Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese). Vicano (Visayan- Ilocano). I enjoy eating homemade avacado shakes w/ condense milk in my Magic Bullet. I also love eating halo-halo. I don't like or eat goat, chocolate meat, and balut. Nasty stuff.

1. Adobong baboy, i prefer it over chicken.
2. Sinigang na bangos, unfortunately I cannot get the bangos here in Malaysia so I make do with pork ribs. So it'll be sinigang na baboy, my malaysian husband's favorite
3. Daing na bangos, I only get it when I visit the Philippines.
4. Pinakbet, i only eat it when I eat in a filipino restaurant. My family cannot take the smell of bagoong.
5. Kare-kare
6. Arrozcaldo
7. Tapang baka
8. Longganisa
9. Leche Flan, only my mother-in-law and I eat this dessert at home.
10. Halo-halo
11. Buco Salad, my husband's relative just love this dessert.
I'm not much for lechon de leche. I hate looking at the suckling pig, it's also a chinese food here in Malaysia.

Mango with bagoong! Joking lang. I cook a nice garlicky adobo pretty frequently; it's an easy weeknight supper. I like my mom's friend's pancit, which is also very garlicky and is made of lots of different kinds of noodles. She would never give me the recipe, though, since she caters. I didn't grow up with embutido but I've liked it ever since I had some at my cousin's house. I am *very* lucky to have access to fresh kalamansi, so I can make hot or cold limonada any time of year, or squeeze some as a condiment for my ulam (sp?). Lately I've been hankering for pitsi pitsi, which doesn't show up on the menus of the filipino bakeries and restaurants around here.

Lechon is ok but the stuff they serve in most restaurants can't really be called a lechon because it's just a roast pig....To be called lechon, it has to be a suckling pig...
Adobo is ok too but not my thing...not many people know how to do it right so it isn't swimming in oil.
Pinoy restaurants?...I like the stuff they have at Cafe Adriatico. Is Ima still around? that was good too. Anything Kapampangan is manyaman....hehehe..
Tapa!!! a good tapa with a fried egg....
Balot!!!!!!! love it.
Kinilaw na anything (goat, fish, oysters, whatever)!!!! with lots of sili....
Sinigang...bangus over pork any day.
Mechado!!! the way my lola made it (2 days to cook with venison)...., with a raw egg over rice?....panalo!

I love kare-kare with bagoong. My kids love chicken adobo and bistek. At a potluck, I'll bring pancit bihon or lumpiang shanghai (small lumpia). Paksiw na lechon is very good whenever we have leftover lechon from parties.

My favorite dish in the Philippines was the fish soup. The fish was so fresh and the soup very tasty. I also liked the grilled fish. The Philippines is a fish lover's paradise.

Duck Confit on a bed of aurugula with raspberry lime sauce reduction.
Of course a good old fashioned DINUGUAN would do the trick.
