I think scurvy can effect your nails, are you getting enough vitamin C. It could just be a lack of vitamins. start taking a one a day vitamin and vitamin c and see if that helps.

yes there is alot of diseases that do this I have a list if I can find it please email me for it at herb_chick_rhonda@yahoo.com so I dont forget to look. I do know that ridges in your nails means a vitamin deficiency. ridges are lines that are like into the nails.

it's called "clubbing" of the fingernails and is common with conditions like COPD
