Yes, because there is more than one kind. Type 1 is when your pancreas stops producing insulin, and can be acquired relatively young. Type II is diet/exercise related and can be acquired at any age.

Both type 1 &2 are autoimmune diseases. There is about a .01 % of anyone getting it. The percentage goes up as it is in your your family. The highest possibility is identical twins where the chance of getting diabetes is .5 % The skipping a generation thing is just an old wives tale.It may be true in some peoples situations but not with everyone.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I have an older brother and a younger sister who are both diabetic and nobody else in the family has it. But to answer your question, yes diabeties can skip a generation, or even disapear in a family should the 'bad' gene be bred out.

Type 2 diabetes is generally thought to be more environmental rather than inherited in the usual sense. As long as you keep your weight within 10 to 15 pounds of your recommended weight for your height, you should not be prone to getting type 2 diabetes.

Yes you still are at risk for getting diabetes because it runs in your family. This skipping generations is an old wise tale.

Usually diabetes skips a generation. My grandmother had it as well as my maternal grandfather. Neither of my parents have it, but I recently found out I'm very prone to it.

Yes it can skip. Both my grandmas had it & my paternal grandma (father's mom) gave it to him. I got it from my grandma on mom's side & my mom doesn't have diabetes. Neither does my brother. My son's at risk for it since I had Gestational while pregnant. My uncle didn't get it either when he was alive. His sons don't have it.

Just because your skinny doesn't mean you won't get it. I have several thin friends who have it; 2 are on insulin pumps too. Obese people are more susceptible to get diabetes due to the overeating, high sugar consumption & bad eating habits.

Diabetes is not predetermined based on family history. True, if it runs in the family there is an increased chance of getting it yourself. However, it does not mean that you will get it. Regular testing would be advised because of your history.
