Go to a local junior college and get placement testing. Find out what you will be good at. Advanced training and education are the best ways to move up in a company and get higher incomes.
Don't know what you want to do? Work for a temporary agency and get lots of experience in different offices in various areas of town in different fields of interest.

First you need to look for something you enjoy not just something that pays good. Next complete a great resume and post it where your interest are and affiliate yourself with career focused people.
