If its authentic Thai food, its all good.
If you enjoy pasta already, you might first try Pad Thai, which is the Thai version of pasta in a delightful and fragrant peanut sauce. Most non-Asians love this dish.
Thai restaurants will surely offer curry dishes. Try one of these, based around your preference of meat. Chicken curry, shrimp curry, etc - all are delightful if you enjoy the heady perfume of curry spices.

I'd second the papaya salad suggestions. It's called Somtam. Also try some of the variants of it. My favorite is somtam teng, which uses cucumber instead of papaya.
Also try a spicy mango salad.

I really enjoy Pad Ped. It is a creamy curry sauce with onions, mushrooms and eggplant. You can get it with any type of meat. I prefer chicken. Try it mildly spiced, unless you prefer hotter.

Try Tom Yam Soup (esp. shrimp or seafood). It's a nice hot soup you would try during cold. Taste spicy and sour...tasty!!!
