Yes, you could have got it from him. Even if he has no physical symptoms of the virus he can still spread it to you. Physical signs can sometimes take months and even years if at all to show up, so that person can have HPV for a long time and not realize it and spread it around to their sex partner(s).
There are over 100 different kinds of HPV. Most will clear on its own but some stay with the person the rest of their life, mainly the kinds that can cause cancer and warts.
If you have a kind that causes cancer or warts you'll most likely have it the rest of your life. There is really nothing you can do about it now. The only thing you can do is make sure you get a pap smear done every single year. Pap smears are the best thing a women can do to detect any abnormal growth on the cervix which can develop into cervical cancer. 4,000 women die every year from cervical cancer. It is the second most common cancer in women after breast cancer. It's important that you do this.
Also, HPV is NOT passed to the baby during birth. Chances of this happening are REALLY rare. A baby is more likely to be born with herpes or HIV if the mother is infected.

Genital warts (or condyloma, or condylomata acuminata) is a highly contagious sexually transmitted infection.
Genital warts (also known as venereal warts) are caused by a virus, the human papillomavirus (HPV).
Warts are found on or around the penis, anus or vagina.
They are small lumps which have an irregular cauliflower-like surface.
The colour and shape vary depending on their location. Sometimes the warts cause irritation and itching.
Genital warts are a serious health concern as certain types of HPV have been associated with cervical cancer.
However, most women infected with genital warts do not have the strains of HPV that give rise to cervical cancer.
Genital warts often disappear even without treatment. However, there are a range of drug treatments.
Small warts can also be removed by freezing, burning or using laser treatment.
Occasionally, surgery is used to remove larger warts.
Please see the webpages for more details and images on Genital warts (Human papilloma virus).

First, I am sorry about your HPV and the problems this might bring to your marriage. There is no way for you to beg HPV by oral sex. The only way is by penis/vagina contact. If you have not had sex with anyone else, this means your husband has.

hpv is the most common std, but it can be contracted by other means.. since there are about 30 types and the have a hardy capside (shell) that allows the virus to linger almost anywhere that is not cleaned with 5% clorox regularly.. Rubbers wont help, the virus passes right through and you may have had it a long long time and gave it to him, it does not effect men.usually. But now you have it there is no cure but there is fair prognosis, the cancerous lesions, if they appear, can be removed and are not life threatening and they only effect the curvix.. there is a vaccine for children, young girl virgins, called gardisil by Merk. You want to get your daughter treated .. good luck

You could've had hpv for a while and it just showed up now. I had it for 2 yrs. with many normal paps before I knew I had it. (i only had sex w/ one person) My pap smear actually showed hpv when I was pregnant too. Pregnancy weakends your immune system so that may be why it showed up then and not before. I've had normal paps ever since.

I hear that most women come in contact with hpv and clear it up on their own in a matter of time. I would get allthe facts first and talk to your doctor. Especially with a child in the picture now, you don't want to jump to conclusions just yet.

hpv is far more common than you might expect... unfortunately. yes, you could have received the virus from your husband... but that doesn't necessarily mean that he cheated on you. men can carry it without being aware. similarly, so can you. you may have been carrying the virus prior to your marriage. as to what you can do: wait it out or get the warts removed.
