not very long.people who are severe diabetics have to use insulin to inject into their bodies to keep the blood sugar normalized. some take pills to keep their blood sugar in check but without your pancreas your lifespand is shortened just as someone without a liver. you cant survive without either of them.you can but not very long.yes a person without a functioning pancreas will die. ive never heard of transplanting a pancreas that survived the operation

Obviously, a low-functioning or non-functioning pancreas results in Diabetes, whether it is Type I or II.
Insulin shots are typical now and regulate the blood sugar level like a healthy pancreas would.
If you abuse your body and are not careful, of course you could die. It's all about moderation. Too much of anything isn't good for you. You can die from drinking too much water, ok?
Now, the blood sugar testers are so advanced that they can predict the blood sugar level you will have after eating certain foods.
Careful regulation and healthy activities will promote a healthy digestive system and body. Just be careful.
People don't die suddenly from Diabetes unless they have done something like gorge on food and give their bodies more sugar than can be dealt with, even with Insulin.

well if they're pancreas quit that means their body is producing no insulin hence that person is a diabetic....and if the pancreas has completey quit then they would be a type 1 diabetic & no a person w type 1 diabetes will not live very long w/out treatment, its not possbile, you need insulin to control your blood sugars & w/out it you will become very sick & die

There are other methods other than needles to deliver insulin. There is the insulin pump which is surgically implanted into your body that can deliver insulin 24 hours a day.

Not sure what that body part is for but I imagine if someone has any part of the body that has quit has a chance of dying from it.
