I've been drinking soy milk for years, but recently read it's bad news (too processed). Anybody else heard this? Anybody drinking almond milk? If so, which brand?

I have tried almond, soy, rice, and oat milks.

Almond is my favorite.

I also like rice and oat milk with soy being last.

Most big health food stores and even smaller ones and coops have it. Don't have brand name off top of my head.

You can also make almond milk baying using almonds and filtered water in a blender, but if you drink a lot, it is best to sprout the almonds first as they have a chemical or enzyme which isn't that safe..sprouted almonds do not sprout..they just swell up.

Almonds: Soak 10-14 hours, sprout 1.0 day. Method: cloth Use only unblanched almonds. Sprout+storage time should not exceed 2 days or sprouts may turn rancid. Best to peel sprouts before eating (peeled have incredible flavor). Peeling is tedious, reduced by blanching in warm water (15-30 seconds in hot water from faucet). One of the very best sprouts!

Honestly- if you are buying almond milk in the store - its going to be just as processed as the soy milk you now think is bad news. You can try using a SoyaJoy - and make your own soy or almond milk. Be careful wiht soymilk though - - drinking it on a regular basis can cause a hormone imbalance in both men & women.

I LOVE chocolate almond milk. Good to drink over ice and marvelous in instant chocolate pudding if you use it instead of(regular) cow's milk. Sorry, I can't recall the brand name right now but I don't think there are too many brands out there at the moment.

I also like chocolate Rice Dream milk. Have you tried any of the Rice Dream rice milks? Also very good. They have a slightly thinner texture than the almond milks.

Trader Joe's is where I buy my Almond Milk (I think it's called Almond Dream, but not 100% positive). Some grocery stores and "natural" food stores carry it, too. It is getting more popular.

It's usually not more than about $2.75 for a quart container. If it's going to be an everyday item in your diet, it could get pricey, but if it's just for a treat, go for it! Treat yourself. You deserve it, right?

Yummy in the tummy...

Enjoy!!

Almond Milk. This kind

Blend up a smoothie with a banana and Almond Vanilla for unique taste. Or pour half a cup over a bowl of chocolate ice cream to create a tasty dessert.

The issue with soy milk is that it is said to contain high levels of estrogen. In fact in a lot of places, soy supplements are now being given to menopausal women to boost their estrogen levels. So if you drink a lot of it you might want to consider alternatives. Rice Dream rice milk is also good but much thinner than soy.
