There are a number of ways to use sweet potatoes. Either treat them as roast potatoes but put a small amount of rosemary on them. I also put them in soups. The other way is to use a peeler, make lots of shavings, swirl a little olive oil and bake them in the oven for about 30minutes. They come out like crisps. Place them on a paper towel to absorb the oil.I also roast them with other vegeatables like, garlic, onion, courgette, tomatoes etc...They can be boiled and mashed, if desired put some cumin in.

There are lots of ways to prepare a sweet potato. I really like them sliced and fried like french fries. I also like them baked like potatoes with some butter and nuts. They're also tasty raw, but I've heard that if you eat too much raw sweet potato it can make you sick. I have eaten a whole one raw and not been sick before.
Other suggestions can be found at www.meals.com.

scrub it clean
thinly coat in vegetable oil
put directly on oven rack in preheated oven (300-350)....no pan.
bake until soft all the way through. ( poke with fork/toothpick/ knife to test softness)
Make sure you have a pan or foil at the bottom of your oven because oil will drip.
Serve potato plain or with butter.
Some people will eat the skin.Others like it skinned after it's cooked , mashed up like mashed potatoes , and with butter added. Or you can just cut it in half and put a butter square on top.
Delicious!!
Quick snack: Wash, skin and slice like potato chips. Eat it raw. Crunchy yummy mm mm mmm!!!

You can do with all the things you do with regular potatoes. I like to put it in the oven whole and after forty minutes or so it's crsipy on the outside and soft ont he inside. I then cut it open and put a generous dollop of humous on top, then finish with some steamed vegetables. The whole combination delicious and nutricious! Enjoy.

For the mirowave: scrub the potato, pierce it with a sharp knife, put it into the microwave and set the timer for 4 mins. check with the sharp knife for softness. take it out if done to your likeness and cut a slit along the potato and put butter and brown sugar on it. enjoy.
To Bake: wash and put it in the oven and bake at 350 until done.
serve and eat the same as above
To deepfry: wash, peel, cut as in making potato chips; for mashed: wash, boil as in making mashed potatoes. peel after the potato is done and then mash as you do in making mashed potatoes.

Sweet potatoes are great! You can bake them. Roast with olive oil, garlic and hers. Mash (just with a bit of butter --- or add brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice).

Different ways. One is to bake it at about 350 degrees wrapped in aluminum foil after you've washed it and rubbed some olive oil on it, and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon and/or brown sugar on it. At any rate, here are 2 sure fire websites for virtually any recipe you could want: www.foodtimeline.org (my absolute favorite website) amd www.cooks.com (think it is dot com).
