There are many reasons for cardiomegly. The heart is a muscle, and like all muscles, if it is 'overused', it grows larger. It is 'overused' by working so hard to compensate for something. I know this is very general, but as far as 'curing' this, you have to know what the heart is compensating for in the first place and deal with that first or in conjunction with it. Ask your doctor. Make him explain so that you totally understand.

The only curing is a heart Transplant , The enlarged heart will eventually Fail , The ventricle wont push out enough blood etc.

High blood pressure is the most common cause, it will enlarge the left side of your heart. exercise helps but the heart will not shrink back once it is enlarged.

My sister had an enlarged heart.we didn't know until it was too late hers was real damaged...they had to give her a heart transplant...but they still haven't found what happened to make hers enlarge,it can be a virus,or anything...so u need to go to the doctor asap so the doctors can keep a check on it.its better in the long run....she is doing real good with her new heart...

Heart enlargement can be caused by a variety of things, the most common is alcohol and drug abuse. Go to the doctor.
