Try the Shirdi Saibaba Temple. You'll never find another cooler and peaceful place like that in Chennai.

It would give you two places
1) In the morning and afternoon the Guindy National park and the places surrounding it are real cool and beautiful
2) In the evening Besant Nagar beach is real cool and beautiful

If u need a cool place u can visit vandalur zoo.
beautiful place marina,besant nagar @ few other beaches.
chennai itself beautiful place if u stay there 4 quite some time.

marina beach in the morning, theosophical society in the afternoon and the ecr in the night.
stay in chennai 4 a week and you wouldn't want to leave it.
