People at age 23 rarely have heart attacks. HOWEVER, rarely implies that it DOES happen. Treat it seriously and go to the ER immediately. One of the common myths is that you need to be some old person with a very plaque-filled artery to have a heart attack. This isn't true. Even a very small blockage (20-30%) of soft plaque can rupture, causing a MI-producing clot.

Even if it's not a heart attack, you'll want to make sure that it's not pericarditis, myocarditis, some form of cardiomyopathy, or a variety of other heart conditions WHICH ARE EVEN SEEN IN CHILDREN. IOW, please, treat this seriously. At the hospital, they'll simply take a little blood, do an EKG, and a chest x-ray. All of that is painless, non-invasive testing that could save your life. Afterwards, either the ER doc or your regular doc should order what's called an ECHOcardiogram (not to be confused with an EKG). In that test, someone simply puts a little gel on your chest and uses a wand to do a sonogram of sorts of your heart. (If you've seen pictures of an ultrasound done on a pregnant woman, it's quite similar to that.) It's completely painless, non-invasive, and can tell them how well your heart is pumping, as well as whether there has been any damage. It's worth it.

You should definitely have any chest pains checked out by a physician. It could indicate a cardiac disorder, an anxiety attack, or it could be referred pain from another site (spinal root compression, musculoskeletal or gastrointestinal issues). If the pain continues or increases, you should head to the nearest ER. Be sure to keep a record of the location of the pain, the quality of the pain (dull, sharp, aching, crushing), length of time the pain has occured, any precipitating factors (causes), etc.

Constant chest pain at this age is not heart pain.
this is muscular.
start some mild excercise and local application of massage cream.Avoid medications.

See a doctor immediatly, it is not heart attack but it could be some circulation problem or a congenental disease or simply nothing.

well, if it spreads to the shoulders, it could be heart attack. if it stays in one spot, it could be an anxiaty attack, that isn't bad, it just means that you feel guilty for doing something. try confessing to god by telling him what you have done, and ask for forgivness.
