My in home patient has herpies and this information was not disclosed at the time I was hired a year ago. Can I get this if I accidently touch an active break out? What about her tiolet seat? I am freaking out! Can I sue? She is currently having her second break out while in my care and I was just told she has herpies this week!

You won't get herpes from her unless you are touching her sores. Genital herpes is only passed by sex and direct skin to skin contact. There are other ways, like childbirth, but obviously that doesn't apply to your situation.

You can't get it from using a toilet or shower after her though. I've had genital herpes for over 5 years. I shared a bathroom with my two younger brothers those 5 years. They NEVER got the virus from me after using the toilet or shower after me. Herpes is just not spread like that.

If it makes you that uncomfortable why don't you ask to be removed from helping that particular patient?

There is no reason this information needed to be disclosed to you. You are not at risk of contracting herpes unless you're rubbing exposed skin on an open sore.

You cannot get herpes, or any other STD from a toilet seat. It's a virus. They die as soon as they hit the air.

I am quite suprised that a home health aide would not know even the most basic information about herpes, let alone know how to spell it. Perhaps this is not the profession for you. I am very uncomfortable thinking that you provide medical care to a home bound patient.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 3 yrs ago, when I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I realize loads of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/f2jKi everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.
