Agreed the only way that meat would ever contact French Fires is if you cooked them in animal fat, like Lard or Beef Tallow, as a vegan it is not your choice, I can say that do have a unique flavour done in those ways, and if you like a vegan style gravy for them use vegetable broth thickened with a starch, ketchup and a dash Worchestershire sauce, and for a treat if you eat dairy, grated cheese, to make a vegan poutine

McDonald's fries are sprayed with beef tallow to supposedly "enhance" the taste.
Years ago McDonald's used an oil mixture of about 7% cottonseed oil and 93% beef tallow to cook its fries in. These fries had a unique flavor and more saturated fat that a hamburger! In 1990, because of lots of criticism over the amount of cholesterol in their fries, they began using 100% vegetable oil, but are now spayed with beef tallow before freezing and shipping. When the list of ingredients is read on the ff bags, it will list "natural flavor". This natural flavor is beef tallow! EWWW!

French fries are 100% potato, and as far as I know they don't carry any kind of meat. But, one thing they do have is fried pig fat. Instead of frying them in olive oil or Crisco, they use lard (known as pig fat). So if that's considered meat to you, then yes it does have meat.

A potato is not meat,, but it is fattening, If you make FF at home you know what oil your using, but in resturants, you don't know, they sometimes deep-fry everything in same oil, so there can be meat fat or particles of meat in that oil. It is not enough to just ask what kind of oil, but do they have separate fryers, and even then your just never know. Sad to say,, but it's true

What are those bad boys fried in? Mickey D's used to taste so "good" because they used beef tallow to fry in.
Ask! Check! Maybe the place you're getting fries uses plain old veg oil.
Best yet, make your own by baking them in the oven with garlic salt!

Potatoes are pure vegtables, just watch the oil you use to make them, olive oil is the healthiest! And you should bake them instead of deep frying as it is healthier.
Message to Jail Bird... your boyfriend is not a vegan if he's eating cheese. A vegan does NOT eat anything to do with animals, no milk, no cheese, no eggs, they only eat veggies, fruits, grains.

I think that idea is stupid(of course who am i to judge how you waste your time), everyone uses veg oil cause it's cheaper(i don't care what the fast food chains do as far as i'm concerned their evil), and the only thing i know that fries are coated with is sugar for color

Some french fries are dipped in, or have a coating of, beef broth. I guess you need to ask to make sure, wherever you are purchasing them from.
