I agree but the real reason they do that is because of a serious peanut allergy, which now requires food manufacturers to label all foods that contain peanuts. If a person ate peanut butter and died from anaflactic shock, the family could sue, even though they knew it had peanuts if the jar wasn't labeled. This merely protects the companies--kind of like McDonalds labeling their coffee cups with the danger warning because some idiot burned her legs while driving when her hot coffee spilled and the cup wasn't labeled. She collected $30 million.

cause some idiot probably brought a suit against the manufacturers and the courts or the fda required the company to add the label as a precaution or settlement.

Same reason they say "hot" on a cup of coffee. Because some idiot who isn't paying attention or using common sense will sue them for millions.

the person above me was correct...
but as for the macdonald's comment.. the reason she won was becuase the coffee was way hotter then what is should have been.
granted coffee is hot.. but it shouldn't cause 3rd degree burns.
