Don't take anti-inflammatories like Advil if you are on daily Aspirin unless your doctor says it's OK. Anti-inflammatories have blood-thinning properties as well. They can also cause bleeding in the stomach and being on Aspirin can make the bleeding worse. Tylenol is safe.

As some have already suggested, take the Tylenol for pain. Meds like Advil (Ibuprofen), Aleve and Naproxen have blood thinning properties. But....to be on the safe side...Always check with your doctor. The heart is nothing to mess around with.

Motrin (or ibuprofen), which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), if taken just before taking aspirin or if taken throughout the day in which one is taking aspirin, can reduce the antiplatelet effects (blood-thinning effects) of aspirin, possibly making the aspirin less effective in preventing heart attacks and ischemic strokes.

Therefore, if you need pain relief, it's recommended to take a drug like Tylenol, which is not a NSAID.

Both work well. Tylenol is probably better for you, since it doesn't affect blood pressure. I have high blood pressure, and my doc said I can't have Advil anymore. If you are taking it for blood thinning, you just need a low dose aspirin.

I believe that Advil also has a blood thinning effect. I would call my doctor's office and ask her nurse or call a pharmacist. Taking them together might be too much blood thinner.

Just take plain Bayer Aspirin. I have done this for years.
I always take one just before bed time.
More people have heart attacks in their sleep than any other time.
