For sitting on your lap and purring, or for catching mice, I prefer cats to donkeys. For carrying a heavy load over steep mountains, donkeys would get the nod.
So ordinarily I would say--cats!

Donkey's they live alot longer than cats i know a donkey that is 45 years old and still fit. Cheaper to have a cat though?
