Because HSV (herpes), like HPV (genital warts), infections thousands of times more people than HIV.

The majority of sexually active Americans have at least one strain of HPV. Mostly it isn't a big deal as most strains are asymptomatic, but for those that aren't or those that develop cancer it is a BIG DEAL.

Same thing with HSV, while not the majority a significant minority (probably >30%) of Americans have it, it is very contagious and is mostly symptomatic and from what I've read is NOT FUN. Symptoms do go away in most after 10-15 years, but thats not a fun decade. Know who you're sleeping with and stick to monogamous relationships where you trust the person and you can cut your risk of these infections drastically. They are largely the result of bar hookups and those with loose standards regarding others.

It is more wide spread than you think. It is fatal because it can cause encephalitis in rare occasions and there is no cure for the same. Young boys and girls know about this STD only after get infected. Genital herpes cannot be cured. Once infected, the virus stays in the body for the rest of the individual's life
Research suggests that the virus can be transmitted even when there are no symptoms present, so that a sexual partner without obvious genital herpes sores may still transmit the illness. In fact, asymptomatic spread may actually contribute more to the spread of genital herpes than do active sores.

A lot of people have them, that could be a reason.

1 out of 4 women have genital herpes while 1 in 5 men have it.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 3 yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I understand lots of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/UM1Ah everything got better.

Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the herpes virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.
