No it does not make a person sterile. STDs that make people sterile are usually the bacterial ones (syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, to name some). Even then, this is when they are left untreated for a while. Viruses like herpes, hepatitis and HIV do not cause a person to become sterile.

Having herpes will not make a person sterile. It does not do anything to a persons health. The only thing it really does is the sores and these can be treated with medication, other than that there is no real health threat with having herpes. In fact, it is probably one of the better STDs to have. It doesn't cause death, like HIV and untreated syphilis can do, it doesn't cause cancer, like HPV can do, it doesn't cause a person to become sterile like syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia can. Don't get me wrong, the sores are very painful, especially during the first outbreak, and there is no cure for herpes, but bottom line, no, it does not cause a person to become sterile.

Also, I have read and done a lot of research about giving birth to a baby when the mother has herpes. It's a less than 1% chance the mother will pass herpes to her baby. This only happens when the mother is currently on an outbreak while the baby is coming through the birth canal.

No, I don't think that herpes makes you sterile.
Complications-

Once you contact the virus that causes genital herpes, the following happens:
The virus resides in your body. Within next few days, it may cause small bumps to form that ulcerate, crust and go away. These ulcers may be accompanied by fever. Even after a flare-up resolves, since the virus remains inside the body, it can cause

1. Another flare-up of active sores after some months or years.
2. It can be transmitted to others even if active sores are absent.

So one who contacts genital herpes once, always lives in the threat of an outbreak of active sores throughout life.

Genital herpes also increases susceptibility of contacting HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases(STD). The biggest harm it inflicts, is psychological. It can destroy relationships and can leave a person afraid and vulnerable. Since you can pass on the virus even if you are not having active sores, your every relationship will be that of fear. The question whether you will transmit the virus to your loved partner or not, will always be in your mind and nothing can prevent that. Genital herpes thus takes not only physical but also mental toll.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

I was tested positive for herpes approximately six years back, when I was in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I suppose many of girls will say this but I swear I never did that sort of thing. I jud made a mistake that one time and, suddenly, it seemed like I was going to have to live with the problem for the rest of my life. The worst part was thinking I would never date guys again. After all, who wants to date a woman who has blisters around her you-know-what? But after a good friend showed me this video https://tr.im/TreatmentHerpeshXn everything has changed. Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than fifteen days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so happy to say that just last week, in front of many people in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program gave me back the chance to be happy, and to experience true love.

no, but if you have active herpes and you deliver vaginally, you can pass on the virus to the baby. for that reason many women with herpes have c-sections.
