Yes I have 2 of them what they are going to do is have you go to a hospital near you tht has a sleep center then you will come in early about 6P.M. and they will process your paper work then they will measure your skull and attach some eeg leads to your skull face and extremities and your chest and ask you to go to sleep at a predetermined time usually 10P.M. and also attach a piulse oximeter to your finger and the will record your h eart rate oxygen saturation rates and respirations in different rem levels of sleep alpha-delta then in the morning they will remove all equip and decide whether you have the condition if so they will fit you for a c-pap machine and either nasal or full face mask and oxygen back up as needed hope this helps best wishes gorbalizer

My dad just had one on Thursday. He said it wasn't bad, very weird to be sleeping in a weird place though. He said they hook you up to a heart monitor, an oxygen monitor and something to monitor your brain waves. The gel they use in your hair for the brain waves is very gooey though. Then, they monitor your sleep patterns. The next test, if they feel you need it, is a test with the breathing machine. They hook you up and you have to sleep with it on and see if it regulates your oxygen status. It dries your throat out and it takes awhile to get used to.

Yes I have, I had to wear a thing on my finger that recorded the amount of oxygen in my blood. I had a small box of electronics strapped on to my wrist and the finger thing was like the machines you get in hospitals to do the same thing.

i've never had a sleep apnea test, but i've done the procedure on patients already. they send you to a sleep lab, there's a bed there, they will hook a bunch of wires on you, mostly they will stick them in your head, and in your chest. and in the other room, that's where they read the data (it's like a tv monitor) -- they can tell if you're still awake, they can tell if you're already asleep, they can tell if your breathing stops while sleeping. and that's how they diagnose sleep apnea.

Yes, I have. They made you sleep in a special room where they hook you up to special machines to record your brain waves while you are sleeping. They gave me a special machine that forces air into my mouth to help me sleep at night.
