No unfortunately there is nothing she can buy over the counter to treat genital herpes.
She'll need to go to the doctor and have them write a prescription for some medication. There are currently three oral medications and one topical medication (cream) for genital herpes. Acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir), and valacyclovir (Valtrex) are all used to treat genital herpes. The topical form is acyclovir (Zovirax ointment).
She can take these every day or just when she is having an outbreak or "feeling" one coming on. I personally only take the medication when I am currently having an outbreak or feel like I am going to have one.
There is no cure for genital herpes, just treatments to help prevent and help heal outbreaks sooner.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 5 years ago, while I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I know a lot of girls will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/1WM2y everything improved.
Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the World.

They can take 1,500 milligrams of the amino acid L-lysine per day. I recommend taking it 3 times a day in 500 milligram pills. Also be sure to eat a lot of protein - chicken and turkey are good for this if you aren't a vegetarian. Contact me if you want some further information, and I will see what I can do. The medications acyclovir and "Valtrex" are both medications based on the L-lysine amino acid. You can also take 1,500 milligrams of L-lysine once a day, but as this is an acid, it might upset the stomach without having a meal first. Also, any food that boosts the immune system. Broccoli sprouts and caulifower have a chemical in it called "indole-3-carbinol" which is available in 200 mg tablets, and garlic or onions contain "allicin" which also bolsters the immune system. Always get enough sleep and try to live as healthy as you can. Outbreaks occur when the immune system is weakened, so keep it strong - stay healthy as you possibly can.

The best treatment is prevention: Safe sex practices are urged to prevent this and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) for those sexually active adults not in a mutually monogamous relationship. For those infected, oral anti-viral medications are available to treat herpes infections or to reduce the rate of recurrences in those with frequent outbreaks. These medications do not cure herpes however, or render someone non-contagious. They can reduce the amount of viral shedding however, and decrease the number of days that an infected person could pass on herpes to a sexual partner.

Over the counter creams and ointments are NOT recommended for treatment of Genital Herpes. If you choose not to take medication, frequency of outbreaks can be successfully managed through proper nutrition, frequent exercise, minimizing stress, and getting adequate rest.

Valtrex is a popular antiviral medicine that effectively slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. The active ingredient in Valtrex is valaciclovir. The antiviral medicine is found helpful for treating genital herpes, shingles and cold sores. Though Valtrex does not cure herpes, it is found immensely useful in reducing the symptoms of the infection.
Valtrex for shingles works by stopping the virus cells from replicating and spreading. It achieves this goal by blocking the action of viral enzyme called DNA polymerase that assists the herpes virus to replicate. Valtrex stops the herpes infection from replicating and spreading. This allows your body's immune system to deal with the virus much quickly than it would naturally. In addition, Valtrex antiviral medicine can also decrease the risk of passing genital herpes infection to your sexual partner.
To get effective results of Valtrex for shingles, you must use it as prescribed by your doctor. For best results, treatment with Valtrex should be started as early as possible after the first appearance of symptoms. It is suggested that you take the dose with a full glass of water. Drinking plenty of water while you are taking Valtrex helps to keep your kidneys function properly. You must also complete your course of Valtrex medicine, even if the symptoms get better. This will help Valtrex to deal with the infection in a better way and prevent any further outbreaks from occurring. The remaining count of pharmacies are considered to be independent or privately owned.

Although Valtrex is a well-tolerated medicine, in some patients it may cause side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, confusion, decreased kidney function, dizziness, nausea and vomiting and disturbances of liver function. In case, any of the above reported side effects become bothersome and if you face any unusual side effect, please report to your doctor immediately.
These days, you can also buy Valtrex online. When placing an order, you'll be required to fill-in an online consultation form that requests details about your medical conditions and the medicines that you may be taking. The information will help the online doctor to judge the suitability of Valtrex for you. If the doctor finds Valtrex suitable for you, you'll receive prescription via email and the medicine will be delivered to you.
Valtrex will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection. Valtrex may be used in combination with safe sex practices in patients with genital herpes to help reduce the risk of spreading the condition to others.
