When I ate vegan I slowly made the transition. What I noticed was my blood sugar was very 'brittle' in that I had to eat a little something about every 4-5 hours. After a time my body adjusted and my blood sugar became more stable. Is this what is bothering you? If so carry a little bit of food with you to munch if you get the 'sinking feeling'. I had a pretty serious immune system illness that went away when I ate vegan. I would recommend this diet for most people who are sick. Your body is cleaned out. Now I have added a few eggs a week and cheese but basically I have stayed with it for 3 years so far. Make sure you eat enough protein like lentils, beans, tofu, soy products, etc. Good luck.

That happens to a lot of new vegans because they don't know yet how to get proper nutrients. My guess is that you're missing out on iron and protein, but you could also be low on vitamin C. Protein is always the hardest for vegans. So today you need to make sure that you eat at least 1 can of beans (beans are a great source of protein for vegans), 1/2 cup of raisins (great source of iron instead of meat), and 3 glasses of orange juice. I would also suggest looking into buying a soy protein powder for protein shakes. Good luck!

Welcome to the world of vegans. when I turned a vegan a year ago, I made it a point to tell every one that they have to make a special effort to see that there are no animal products in my dish. I find that there are more dishes for vegans than others. Live and let live. You have taken a great decision, now it is your strength that will hold you there. God bless you!!

My friend went vegan...she got pretty sick in the beginning. She went from eating meat daily to strictly nothing related to meat. Let your body slowly but surely eliminate it. I mean going cold turkey was her fault and for her it made her sick.

im a new vegan myself, but i feel great. i dont feel bloated or constipated anymore. i make sure to eat whole grains and high fiber foods every day. if you are low on iron eat oatmeal and bananas. i drink soymilk and that helps me get my protien. also it might be a good idea to take a multivitamin every day till you get used to the new foods and getting your vitamins that way.

congratulations, however you should not be ill. See which nutrient you are missing. Definitely take a lot of tofu and beans to get all your proteins.
You will be healthy in the long run
