Chinese/japanese, etc. food that has no meat in it I guess. I don't think there's that many vegans and such in Asia so milk/eggs are probably ok.

Yes, it is purely vegetarian meal. But more importantly, it is contrasted to "Western" style of vegetarian food. I would think that when it is called "asian", it also means using vegetarian foods (vegetables) that are found in the Orient.

OK, if you're serious vegetarian, you have to skip Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Chinese use Chicken stock in most of stir-fried items. Just veg. egg-rolls might do for you. Japanese use fish-based broth(bonito flakes etc.) in most of their soup and sauces. Thai, Vietnamese, and other south-eastern Asians use fish sauce widely as their most common seasoning in their curry, soup, salad dressing, almost in everything. In Korean food, they use fish broth as well as Japanese and also pickled and peppered fish or shrimp thing as seasoning lots of their dishes.
If I were you, I would stick with Indian food or quit being vegetarian. You know, lots of organic farms use fish as natural fertilizer to grow vegetables and fruits. Nature cycles around. I don't know the reason why you are vegetarian so what can I say about it... I'm from Asia and I'm a chef so all this ingredient info is confidential. Good luck...

Many of them in Chinese restaurants might say they are vegetarian but they arent. Most contain chicken broth.

One of the only things I found was safe was the steamed veggies.
