If you really want to know about it, just ask her and be open. Let her know you're concerned. After you've discussed it a bit, and know a little bit more about it, it'll probably stop being so much on your mind.
When I was first diagnosed, my friends had lots of questions, and we talked a lot about it. There are a lot of misconceptions about diabetes - how you get it, what you can and can't eat, medications, etc. It really helped me educate myself more about my condition, as I educated my friends.
If she doesn't want to discuss it, just let her know that's ok with you, but that you're there to talk about things if she ever chooses to.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Honestly, your friend will probably be up front and honest. Being a diabetic myself, I don't go out of my way to tell people, but I'm always willing to talk to anyone about it when they are curious, show interest, or just want to know because they are worried. Start the conversation something like, "I understand your a diabetic, do you mind if I talk to you about it?" Your friend will tell you as much as they feel comfortable with.... it's nothing to be afraid of.

In that case, sit and talk to her about the diabetes. it isn't a taboo subject. my sister has diabetes and you just need to ask all the questions you can possibly ask. once you understand it better i bet you wont be so uncomfortable with it and you and your friend can get back to your normal relationship. i'm sure she has heard all the questions before and will be fine with it.
anyway, the more you know about it the better help you can be should something go wrong. friends and family should all be educated.

Something like this:
"I've been avoiding the subject of your condition because frankly, I don't know exactly what to say. I'm sorry that such a good person like you had to get something so bad. If you ever want to talk about it, call me any time. In the mean time, is there something I could help out with now?"

you should talk to her about it ask her to tell you everything she can about it so if something happens to her due to the diabetes you can help her/also so you know the signs if something wrong. you sound like a good friend don't be afraid to ask.

it's not a disease that should make you feel uncomfortable! it's a common disease to have. your friend is able to control the diabetes with diet and healthy habits. if your friend has controlled diabetes he/she is able to live as happy of a life as everyone else!

This shouldn't bother you at all, it is not contagious and if she handles it well, follows her diet, does her meds, she will be fine, take a minute and appreciate your own health and just be a good loyal friend without judgement to her!

just treat her normally. If she wants to talk about it be a good listener. Look it up on one of the health sites so you'll understand it better.
