Some would say the American national food is hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries but I would rather focus on cities or regions. To New Yorkers it probably would be pizza. Philly would be there cheese/beef steak, Maine it would be lobster. Here in Louisiana, it's red beans and rice with sausage or a pork chop. It is the luncheon special in almost all restaurtants in the state on a Monday.

My national fod is fish 'n chips (God help me) and fod is a good word, presumably it's short for fodder - fit for animals.

I have no idea what a "fod" is but if you are referring to "Food" I'd say that in the U.S. it's pizza!

I believe in The USA, hot dogs are ranked as the national food. I think it has something to do with baseball. I love hamburgers though, morning, noon or night. I prefer hamburgers over a t-bone steak. Can't help it. It's like getting you vegetables and meat all in one.

In the U.S., I'd say it's roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie for dessert. These are very typical foods that people make for the Thanksgiving feast. Other Thanksgiving foods include: cornbread, dinner rolls, peas, seasoned bread dressing, sweet potatoes, green salad, and apple pie.
