Had a glucose tolerance test and blood level went to 312. Left facility and had a seizure and was taken to ER where my blood level was 42. Went to family doctor and was prescribed pioglitazone/metformin, and told to go to endocrinologist, but can't get an appointment for months. Went to neurologist about seizure and he prescribed Depakote ER.
My concern is I feel weak, dizzy, and sleepy and I'm concerned the diabetes is not under control. Now what ,while I wait on the endocronologist?

talk to your doctor about pulling some strings to get in to see the endo more quickly.

a lot of times a doctor can place a phone call and get you in right away at another doctor's office.

until then, i'd ask your regular doctor to get you on some type of insulin therapy.

good luck!

Uh...yeah....You should never have your sugar that high! Or even that low...if you can't get to the endocrinologist, goto your regular doctor. They can still prescribe you some insulin or titrate yours up until it works optimally. You need to get into a nutrition awareness class too! Eating healthy most times will never let your sugars range this fast. You are putting your life at risk. There are serious side effects of this that can ruin the rest of your life. Be smart, and get help!

The seizure was related to hypoglycemia. Did they give you a test drink for the test? You may have a functional hypoglycemia that occurs in prediabetics and diabetics. Get a good diabetic diet and stick to it for now. There are diets available on line.

Try and get in with ANY endocrinologist that you can. Try multiple facilities and different doctors. If that doesn't work, go to the ER!!

get used to the feelings, watch your blood sugar level , keep taking your pills, drink juice if it gets to low and go back to your dr. or er if you start feeling weird again, i've got the same thing so I can relate
