quite easily actually. Diabetes is obviously an insulin driven disorder. Therefore, concentrate on the insulin itself and what makes it go haywire.

If you have too much insulin, most diabetics do, then lower your carb intake signifigantly. Try a diet that consists of lots of veggies, lean meats and only %100 whole wheat products. No flour products or multi grains.

Watch what you drink too. No soda, juices or sports drinks. Look at your labels before consuming anything. If something says 40 grams of carbs per serving and relatively very lil fiber, then that particular product will definitely send your insulin soaring.

One of the best books Ive ever read on this subject is *protein power* its written by 2 doctors and easy to understand. It also has recipes in it to help you find your way.

I'm prediabetic too and have used the Atkins diet. I feel so good when I am on it, so I think it is ideal. Bad news is, I never could stick to it. Don't know why when it made me feel so much better. But if you're not eating carbs, that fits in nicely with what you need to do with diabetes

Try a vegan diet. Recent research shows the vegan diet will reverse type II diabetes. See http://www.vegetarianorganiclife.com/ and http://www.newstarget.com/019785.html I also believe the vegan diet will substantially help prevent the secondary complications of type-1 diabetes.

It can be controlled through diet, it also depends on the severity and type of diabetes.

Diet alone may not be enough.

Diet is a large part of any diabetic treatment, but may not be the whole treatment necessary.
