AIDS stands for Accquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome which is cause by the Human Immunodefficiency Virus (HIV). As far as I know, there are no other names for it.

Before it was named AIDS, the syndrome was called GRID or gay-related immune deficiency.
When health authorities figured out that heterosexuals could get it, too, then they changed the name.
