You could be genetically predispostioned and really there isn't much you can do other than take medication for it. Keep up the exercise, limit the sugar and take your medication regularly. Also make sure you are in the proper weight limits and not overweight - if you are overweight then lose weight. If you have diabetes keep your sugars under control as well as that can affect your triglycerides.
My husband has that problem and it is genetic (meaning his family has this problem and they lack a proper way to metabolize cholesterol) in his case. He is not overweight either. He was diagnosed in his early 20s.
I think this is kind of common in people from the Indian subcontinent (my husbands family is Bengali) and other people we know with insane cholesterol numbers (and they are also genetically predispositioned) are also from the same ethnic background.
You can have a test ran to see if you are genetically predispositioned, although it is pretty expensive and a lot of doctors do not do it or even know about it.

Gun control already exists. It is just a flawed system. Case and point, the background check system. You give practically all of your personal info to the dealer who calls it into the federal government, who then says yes or no. The issue is that the laws regarding background checks have been ignored. Since the brady law was passed in the 90's there have been only 4 convictions for falsifying the form, when there should be 100,000+. It really is hard to find a positive to gun control. Registration just gives more power to the .gov, who then (and has done this several times of late) releases the list of owners/carriers to the media who prints it. Jon Bobsteve @ 1999 buick lane owns 1 shotgun 12 handguns and a rifle. Oddly enough, those places tend to get broken into shortly after. I guess an upside to gun control is that it will increase violent crime, which will fuel another firearm ownership surge. After all, the supreme court ruled that the police have no duty to protect an individual, just investigate the crime after the fact. Either way, thats not much of an upside. I'd rather just not have an increase in gun control, and have more people alive and well.

Good question by the way. I am glad you are concerned. Sometimes the diets that you think will work do the opposite. Ask your doctor abour Niaspan (B3) as an alternative. Check out the source below how I have been able to control mine under 200 w/o statins.

You should follow docotrs directions, but also check into healthy alternatives as well. I know that Evening Primrose Oil helps reduce cholesterol (you can buy at Walgreens or any drug store on vitamin shelves). Also Omega 3 may help, though from what I can tell, its uses have not been fully determined, but is beleived to be quite healthy too.

take lemon juice daily in the morning and take Tulasi , Pudina plants leaves juice after meal regulaly . This is also benificial some 5 to 10 ml "Gomutra " i.e.cow's fresh urine u may take as medicine in the morning emty stumuch . U will be cure definatly ,
with this type of Aurvedic medicine u may try Yoga and controll ur ddite . High FATTY FOOD avoid .

basically you need to concentrate on the INPUT and the OUTPUT... decrease the input by not taking food with high cholesterol and saturated fatty acids like butter,coconut oil,dalda,non vegetarian dishes... and you have to increase the output by doing good exercise and also by including more of VEGETABLES and food items containing more FIBRES(not the fibres you get in non veg food) in your diet...
( cholesterol is secreted in the bile .. this cholesterol which is secreted into the intestine helps in the absorption of fat .. the cholesterol which is secreted is again absorbed by the intestines and then sent back to the liver from where it had been excreted... this is the ENTERO-HEPATIC circulation of cholesterol)
so you need to arrest the cholesterol which has been secreted into the intestines from the liver and prevent it from being reabsorbed... this job can be done by the fibres in the vegetables...
so i recommend you to eat a lot of vegatables so that you will be excreting the excess cholesterol.
if you aged between 18 - 50 years you can also think of donating blood every 4-5 months ,provided you are not anaemic.....

It sounds like genetics is not on your side on this one. Maybe you might ask your doctor about prescribing you some Lipitor or Crestor (just to name a couple available). They are expensive, but cheaper than getting angioplasty and stents.
Also, hope you don't smoke...and make sure you are thoroughly reading your food labels!
