Sounds like alcohol plays way too big a part in your life. Try an AA meeting instead of going to a bar. You will get support there and maybe discover a few things about yourself.

If you're going to a bar and don't want to drink, then drink non-alcoholic beer like Sharp's or something. Or there's always tonic water with a lime, of course. Or you could go someplace else, other than a bar.

have 2 sodas for every alcoholic drink, or just drink sodas. How hard is that? If you can't not drink when you go to a bar, it means you are an alcoholic.
