Because I saw the torture that animals go thru before they go on your plate...I do not and will not contribute to animal suffering...oh and its sooo much healthier...meat is an ignorant craving.

I became vegan because I had type II diabetes, like pretty much everyone else in my family. Diabetics should probably eat a diet that is low in fat, cholesterol, and refined grains/sugars. A well-balanced, considered vegan diet is just that: cholesterol free, very low in fat, and largely lacking anything refined (at least mine is).

I also do a lot of exercise. Through these two choices I have lost a ton of weight, do not require insulin medication, and feel awesome.

Although I am bothered by what I know about factory farming, it is not my primary reason for adopting this diet. I don't believe it's something everyone can or should do. For me it was the right answer, though.

I was sick with an immune system illness and when I started eating a vegan diet my illness went away. Buy tofu at the local Asian market. Inexpensive and good.

Because I don't agree with how America treats animals, especially the diary cows and chickens.

I usually buy my tofu at Whole Foods.

I became a vegan because I was dating a chick that was into animal right, eat nothing with a face. Then I realized that "vegetarian" was an old Apache word for poor hunter. , and we broke up. Man, that first steak was goooooood.

I am not Vegan, but I know that there are people who are allergic to dairy products so they have to be vegan.

There are also people who are vegan for political reasons.

I never really liked meat to begin with.
My family brings a story up way too much when we eat.
When I was little they had to tell me some meats grew on trees.
I didn't know better, so I would eat it.
Meat just kind of does not appeal to me.
I'll eat it if I HAVE to (not be rude at a dinner), but I don't like eating it often.
Chicken if I must.
