Pretty good. Do you know you can use someone else's testing meter, since the lancets and the testing strips are all disposable? If you have a friend who is diabetic, test your blood (finger prick) first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything. It your level is under 100, you are normal. If it is 100-125, you are glucose impaired and should talk to your doctor about it. If your level is 126 or higher, then you probably have full-blown diabetes. Does your mom have a testing meter?

Yes you could be a diabetic, but sometimes in males the same symptoms you are describing can be a problem with your testosterone levels. Amazingly enough males with this problem think they have diabetes and told they are fine, but do not get checked for testosterone levels because it is not that common. But it is becoming more common now then ever. Speak to your Parents and tell them what is worse a trip to the doctor or further complications from ignoring what could be a big problem if not detected early enough.

It does run in families. Hyperglycemia would be high blood sugar (diabetes); hypoglycemia is low blood sugar. Do you see a physician on a regular basis? If so I would tell him or her about your symptoms. Have you had any weight loss or gain? If your parents will not take you to a physician, try your school nurse (I know it sounds lame but some of them can be a big help).
Even if your family won't believe you, it is stupid of them not to get it checked out. You could be in danger.

make an appointment with an endocrinologist who can perform some simple blood tests and immediately tell you if you are diabetic. I would be interested in knowing what other symptoms you present as that is important information that could or could not point directly to diabetes. the symptoms you listed are classic for diabetes.
i am a diabetic who was diagnosed by having a blood test for an impotency problem. the dr. was checking my testosterone level and discovered that i have diabetes. erection difficulties is a key symptom of diabetes.
please have it checked out as undiagnosed diabetes can lead to more serious problems----loss of vision, kidney failure, impotency, ligthheadedness, etc. diabetes is a serious disease that needs to be treated asap. Good luck!

You symptoms sound like type one diabetes. You should definetely see a doctor, though you can have same symptoms in other conditions. If you are thirsty all the time and waking up at night to pass urine and losing weight, you better see a doctor as soon as possible before you end up too sick

You have chances of being diabetic. the best way to know is to get your blood tested for sugar levels. Its better to know if you have it or not for sure rather than assuming that you have it. Any growing child will feel hungry, that doesnt mean youre diabeitc.urine output depends a lot on the intake of fluids.

Well does she have High or Low BS?.
Believe me if you have diabetes at 16 EVERY body around you will know it!
I think you need to chill out and wait until you go to your doctor the next time and then ask him/her to take a A1c that will tell you all.

Diabetes is not inherited but the predisposition is. The symptoms you describe are early indicators but not exclusive to diabetes. To put yourself out of misery, go see the doctor and find out once and for all.

If you fasting blood sugar (don't eat for 12 hours) is 127 or higher you have diabetes. Have your doctor test your blood or if your mom has a "One Touch" where you can prick your finger then test it at home.
