I hate that I have to carry around a candy bar in my purse at all times (incase my blood sugar crashes), and not eat it. ARGH. I tried buying candy bars I don't like and discovered there's no such thing.

they have tablets now you can buy that are made to give your glucose a boost that might help. Personally what i hate about being diabetic is all the stupid diet advice i get from people who ARE NOT diabetic

i hear you! use the little tubes in the grocery store of cake syrup.. if your sugar crashes.. you wont be able to eat a snickers!!! plus the cake batter is cheaper then the diabetic tube and it is the same thing.... good luck.. hopefully a cure will be here soon and we can eat the candy bar cause we want to!!!!!

2 words: glucose tablets.

Explanation: they don't taste bad, but it's obvious they are not candy, so they are not tempting. And they don't melt, and they are slightly more expensive than regular candy, so you're less likely to eat them when your sugar is not low. You could also use hard candies or smarties etc.

At sports stores or departments they sell these little foil pouches for long distance runners called ENERGY GELS. They have like a syrup inside that all sugar and carbs.

If you crash, it will work better than a Snickers but it won't tempt you like one!

LOL.... that sucks.
I had a friend who was a diabetic back in high school and he had that problem... our solution... all his friends carried around candy for him and he did not carry any... that only worked for a while because we'd get hungry third period -- haha.

I keep a bottle of regular soda pop in my car. A swig or 2 and I am all set. Faster acting for me. The only down fall is drinking it when it has set in a HOT car. YUK!

try this get a pill bottle and put sugar cubes in them. They are not that tasty but will have the same effect. You should see a doctor cause there are better ways of keeping it under control.

I feel for you. I don't have that problem fortunately, but that would be like me carrying pizza in my purse, or a taco.
