I HAVE A PT THAT WAS TOLD NOT TO USE NEOSPORIN ON A WOUND THAT IT I WLL MAKE YOU A DIABETIC, i BELIEVE THIS IS COMPLETLY FALSE.. i KNOW THAT DIABETICS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE NESPORIN.

Neosporin DOES NOT make you a diabetic. Diabetes is a disease A: your pancreas does not make insulin(type 1) or B: your cells are resistant to insulin (type 2). Diabetics have a slower wound healing time and have a greater chance for infection. Neosporin, however, is totally unrelated

Oh my goodness no, Neosporin is actually good for diabetics with small cuts. I am a diabetic and started using Neosporin because it works so well.

No, I was a diabetic for 27 years and I did not get it from using neosporin!

That is not at all true. And why are diabetics not supposed to use Neosporin? I've never heard of that.

gonna have to agree w the masses on this one, your PT is completely wrong....and why exactly is it that diabetics arent suppossed to use Neosporin?? Ive been diabetic for 19 years & always use it on cuts n such & my docs have never told me not to

Don't know who told you that,but that's false. I'm diabetic and I never heard of that. Somebody needs to get their facts straight.

This is all nonsense. It is a fine topical antibiotic especially for diabetics to prevent infection.

i doubt very seriously it would make you a diabetic. The whole world would be diabetic if that was the case.
