Zabaglione with fresh berries is a favorite of mine I make it at home and have a few variations when I teach my class. A Friend of mine is allergic to strawberries so I made it for her with blueberries and raspberries. I also make a chocolate version using amaretto instead of Marsala, I do different things with chocolate this is one of my own creations.

I LOVE IT! But sadly enough, the only good Italian restaurant I ave even fun in the Denver area as no idea what it is. I took them in a family recipe for it, they said there would not be enough call for it.

I love it with fresh berries and almond biscotti!

The closest place to my couch I can get it without making it in the kitchen is in Kansas City Mo. at V's Italian Restaurant. Its a long ways to go but sometimes when I get to craving it, I am almost willing to go that far for it!

Grandma Gambino's Zabaglione

4 egg yolks
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. Marsala
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Over double boiler, beat together ingredients with a wire whisk. Place over hot, not boiling water. Cook, beating constantly, until thickened to pudding consistency. Whisk occasionally while Zabaglione is cooling. Serve warm with cold fresh strawberries or raspberries

Zabaglione is usually a cream made of egg yolks, heavy cream and some marsala wine. Its whipped and beaten together. It goes great on desserts or fresh berries.

Higher end restaurants may serve that with dessert. Not sure if its sold. Try specialty markets like Whole Foods, Gelsons, or Trader Joes.

I tried to make it myself, not as good as when I had it for dessert in Vegas.
