Chlamydia is a silent disease. with today's open lifestyle, it is increasing by leaps and bounds because the affected people are unaare that they may have Chlamydia.
Causes
Chlamydia is a bacterial infection of the genitals and anus in men and women. This is a contagious disease. A bacterium chlamydia trachomatis causes chlamydia. Chlamydia is transferred from partner to partner by vaginal, oral, or anal sex. The bacterium is passed when the mucous membrane comes in contact with infected secretion. Oral chlamydia is also reported though it is less frequent than genital chlamydia. Any mucous membrane (membrane that does not have skin) can get infected with the bacteria if it comes in contact with the infected fluid. Young women and teenage girls are more prone to get chlamydia because their cervix is not fully matured. The chances of getting chlamydia increase if a person has multiple sexual partners. An infected mother can pass on chlamydia to her baby.

Because most people these days are either too stupid to put on a condom, or they just don't care. Chlamydia has almost no symptoms whatsoever. Women who get it may have a little more discharge than usual, but even that isn't very indicative of having the disease. There are no outward symptoms, such as genital warts when you have HPV, or open sores with Herpes. The big problem is lack of proper sex/std education, parents letting their teens run wild because they're too busy working to take time out to talk to their kids, and the teens taking advantage of their unaware parents and having sex at such a young age. And actually, HPV is more widely spread than Chlamydia. It's estimated that over 50% of the population is infected with it, and most of them don't even know it because HPV also has no immediate outward symptoms. Most women don't realize they have it until they sprout genital warts, or they get diagnosed with cervical cancer during a routine gyno exam. Men are even harder to diagnose. The only symptoms they show are genital warts, which sometimes never even occur.
A note to all you teenagers out there who are having sex: USE CONDOMS!!!!! If you're going to disrespect yourself enough to have sex when you're 12 or 13, or even younger, at least have enough self respect to use protection. 7th and 8th graders shouldn't be parents! Getting knocked up is the least of your worries. STD's are nasty little things, so protect yourself! Look up the information on all of them and educate yourselves. Maybe seeing some of the pictures of Herpes and genital warts will get the point across. And like the old saying goes: One night stands are one night stands, but Herpes is forever. It doesn't go away. Neither does HPV. Or HIV/AIDS. Syphilis can make women infertile if it's not caught in time, and if it's not treated, will cause dementia and all kinds of other nasty side effects.
