What factors motivate diners to go to a restaurant in the first place and to keep going back?

We need to ensure maximum 'bums on seats' for our soon-to-launch restaurant.

The overall quality of food, speed and quality of service (getting the food out in a timely manner), good variety of food and wine (without going too overboard),cleanliness of restaurant, friendliness of staff (at the entrance and table), ambiance of the place.. Making dining a wonderful experience and event!

For me, it would be cleanliness, that means everything for eating utensils to spots on my drinking glass, restrooms, floors, and wait-staff. If the order is made to my taste as I ordered it, and delivered promply, still hot, thats half the battle. The price and presentation of your meal would of course be the other half. Remember cleanliness is number 1, that's the first thing a customer is going to notice when entering a new business. And make sure you put a sign inside the wash room area stating employee's must wash hands before returning to work, and make sure you check them sometimes and if there not following your guidelines let them go because your customers are watching, and once the word gets out, your business may be in ?

I did a survey for a project in my computer class about restaurants. One of the questions was what is most important in a restaurant. The majority of the people said food. Make sure you have good food, and people will pay more and put up with mediocre service.

If the prices are good, the smell of the food, the cleaness of the place, and how friendly the people are that work there. Also, if the servings are well worth the price.

The food, atmosphere, prices. I think the first two are very important. As well as your place being spotless, of course!
